The Adlingtons
Angel of the North Fishing Lakes is owned and managed by Ann and Arthur Adlington. They have been married for 37 years and have one son (Adam), a daughter in law (Claire) and two Grandsons (Conner and Mitchell).
Prior to the current project at Angel of the North Fishing Lakes, Ann and Arthur set up Triple A Animal Hotel and Care Centre at West Boldon. Triple A achieved the ISO9001 quality standard and the Investors in People award. In doing so, they made history as the first of both awards to be given within their industry. Triple A also won National Training Awards at the House of Commons, Unisys & Management Today National Small Business Awards, were invited to represent Great Britain in Portugal as the Small Business of GB and various other awards. In January 2001 Triple A became share holders with Mars to create a European set of ‘One Stop Pet Shops’.
The intensive animal welfare and small business background skills led Ann and Arthur into their next project when they purchased Bassetts Lookout Farm in 2001 along with some adjacent land. Plans were soon made for coarse fishing lakes, farming, a livery yard and large scale conservation projects.
